50 circular plates, each of radius 7 cm and thickness 12 cm are placed one above the other to form a solid right circular cylinder. Find  the total surface area and volume of the cylinder.

Here, r = 7cm and h = 12 × 50 = 600 cm
 
Total surface area of a right circular cylinder = 2∏r(r + h) = 2 × (22/7) × 7 × (7 + 600) = 26708 cm2
 
 
 
Volume of a right circular cylinder = ∏r2h = (22/7) × 7 × 7 × 600 = 92400 cm3
