An anti freeze solution is prepared from 222.6 gram of ethylene glycol ( C?H?O? ) and 200 gram of water. Calculate the molality of the solution. If the density of the solution is 1.072 gram per ML, than what shall be the molarity of the solution ?

1.MOLECULAR FORMULA OF ETHYLENE GLYCOL : HO-CH2-CH2-OH(C2H6O2)
2.Now molality is defined as = no.of moles of solid ÷weight of solvent in (KG)
Therefore, we can write =(no. of moles of ethylene glycol×1000)÷(wt of  solute in grams)
no. of moles of solute=mass of solute dissoled÷molecular wt of solute
                                         =222.6/62=3.59moles
MOLALITY=(3.59×1000)/200=17.59molal
3.MOLARITY=(NO. OF MOLES OF SOLUTE)/(VOLUME OF SOLUTION IN LITRES)
 no. of moles already calculated=3.59mol
volume of solution =(mass/density)
so,as density is given to us as =1.072gram/ml.
