Dear student

Due to low input impedance the common-emitter is preferred over common-base. Facing towards incoming signal is the forward biased emitter-base junction where the reverse-biased collector base provides high capacitance for high frequency signals. Thus common base amplifier is suitable for high frequency operation.

 Hope this helps.
