a periodic motion may not be oscillatory motion.please explain.

All periodic motions may not be oscillatory. For eg., the revolution of earth around the sun is a periodic motion but not an oscillatory motion, because the basic concept of to and fro motion about same mean position for oscillatory motion is not present in this motion.
