SEBI is planning to slash the number of its listed companies by more than 4000 from NSE and BSE that have been suspended for more than 7 years. As a part of whittling down, the promoters may give to their investors and exit option at a fair price to be determined by third party. They are also planning to allow buying of Mutual Funds from retailers such as Amazon and Flipkart as its ambitious agenda for the year 2020- 2021. Identify and explain the two categories of functions performed by SEBI in the case above.
