In an displacement time graph doesn't the kind of curve shown above mean deceleration? So should the graph mean that when a body is projected vertically upwards the body is decelerating till it reach maximum height and the it is again decelerating downwards? How is this possible? when the body comes down from maximum height shouldn't the body be "accelerating" (because of the gravitational pull of the sun)? In the graph why does it look as if the body is decelerating?

No. The displacement-time graph gives the velocity and not the acceleration. If you draw the velocity-time graph then you will get acceleration and deceleration, but not in the displacement-time graph.
