Why electric field lines not dorm close loop

Answer:
Because the electrostatic field is conservative.
If it forms a loop, it could do a non zero total work by going from a point and then coming back to the same point, this will at the same time fulfills it conservative nature that ensures that this work should be zero; which is a contradiction.
