Answer:
When some disturbance is created at a point in a fluid, this disturbance is propogated in space.
This is due to the intermolculer and elastic forces that bind the constituents of fluid.
The motion of one place affects the surrounded places and this process continues throughout the space,
while the amplitude of disturbance keep on decreasing.
This movement of disturbance which moves without the physical transfer or flow of matter as a whole, is called wave.
