Water has less volume in liquid state than solid how?

Answer:
We know that water molecule has one oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms.
When water is in its liquid state it does not have any definite shape or structure but when we freeze it its molecules arrange into a crystal structure.
unlike most of the other crystals, the arrangement of water crystals occupies more space than liquid, just they need more space to arrange in a specific crystalline structure.
Hence ice has more volume than liquid water.
