centripetal force on a point on eaths surface which is at 60º latitude.
 
Hence, g×cos60 - ω×R × cos60 = 0  or begin mathsize 12px style omega space equals space square root of g over R end root space equals space square root of fraction numerator 9.8 over denominator 6400 cross times 1000 end fraction end root space equals space 1.237 space cross times 10 to the power of negative 3 end exponent space r a d divided by s end style
where R is earth's radius and it is assumed that R = 6400 km
