Sir why the height of mountains on the earth is 10km only? Sir please explain it in detail i can not understand

Answer:
when the mountain height is very heigh, then due to its own weight it will sink. Due to this potential energy will be released by the mountain.
This released energy heating up the mountain mass. If the released energy is more than the energy required to melt the constituents of
mountain it will keep on sink. So the released energy should be less than the energy required to melt mountain constituents.
The calculation related to the above requirment gives the maximum height of the mountain in the order of 10 km
