ideal gas equations for initial state and final state are given by
 
P0×V0 = R×T0 .....................(1)
 
Pf×Vf = R×Tf ........................(2)
 
we are given that  Vf = 2×V0 ....................(3)
 
As by the given process equation
 
Pf = P0 / [ 1+(1/2)2 ] = (4/5)P0 ........................(4)
 
using (3) and (4)
Pf×Vf = (4/5)P0×2(V0) = (8/5) P0V0 ...................(5)
 
From (2) and (5) we write for final temperature
Tf = (8/5)(P0V0) / R ...........................................(6)
 
From eqns. (1) and (6), we get change in temperature = T0 - Tf = { P0V0/R } [ 1 - (8/5) ] = (-3/5){ P0V0/R }
 
(Hope i did algebra correctly. But I am not getting the answer matching with the given options in the question )
