meaning of anticlinal and periclinal division

Answer:
Periclinal  and anticlinal divisions refer to cell division basically in plants (very rare in animals). These are the types or ways of cell division. Periclinal cell divisions occur parallel to the tissue or organ surface.Anticlinal cell divisions are perpendicular to the adjacent layer of cells. The thickness and length of a particular plant depends on anticlinal and preiclinal division respectively.
