Answer:
There are three valence electrons.
It is observed that there is a steady increase in the ionization energy up to the removal of three electrons.
While removing forth electron it needs huge energy which indicates that after removing three electrons the atom attain noble gas configuration hence to remove the fourth electron it required a lot of energy.
Hence there must be three electrons in the valence shell of the atom.
