A satellite is revolving around the earth in a circular orbit of radius 8000 km. With what speed the satellite be projected in the orbital? what will be its period of revolution (G =  9.8ms^-2 M), (radius of earth 6400 km).

When a satellite is revolving around earth in circular orbit, gravitational force of attraction acts
as centripetal force required for circular motion.
Hence we can equate the centripetal force to gravitational force to get velocity of satellite in the orbit.

where m is mass of satellite , v is its speed in orbit , R is radius of orbit , G is universal gravitational constant
