Answer:
Pressure at the bottom of the container = ρgH, where ρ is water density, g is acceleration due to gravity and H is height.
Thrust at bottom = ρgH×πR2 .....................(1)
 
average pressure at wall (1/2)ρgH
thrust at wall = (1/2)ρgH × 2πRH ...................(2)
 
equating (1) and (2), we get R = H
