The bomb starts with vertical component of speed zero.
 
hence time to hit the ground is calculated using the equation, h = (1/2)g×t2 
 
980 = (1/2)×9.8×t2 ...........(1)
 
from eqn.1), we get t = 10√2 = 14.14 s
