Workdone = Force×distance
 
Acceleration produced on 2 kg mass by .5 N force is = .5/2 = 0.25 m/s2 
 
distance moved in 8 sec starting from rest = (1/2)×a×t2  = (1/2)×0.25×64 = 8 m
 
workdone = 0.5×8 = 4 Joules
