a body covers a distance of 4m in 3rd and 12m in 5th sec if the motion is uniformely accelerated how far will it travels in the next 3sec

Answer:
Let u0 be initial velocity and a be the uniform acceleration.
Velocity attained before 3rd second travel = u0 + 2a ;   
distance travelled at 3rd second = u0 + 2a +(1/2)×a = u0 + 2.5×a = 4 ................(1)
Velocity attained before 5th second travel = u0 + 4a ;   
distance travelled at 5th second = u0 + 4a +(1/2)×a = u0 + 4.5×a = 12 ................(2)
solving eqn.(1) and (2), we get u0 = -6 m/s , a = 4 m/s2
 
next 3 second means I assume the travelof 6th to 8th second
 
velocity atained before 6th sec travel = u0 + 5a = -6 + 5×4 = 14 m/s
distance travelled in 6th to 8th second = 14×3 + (1/2)×4×9 = 60 m
