Question: A BODYOF MASS 500GRAMS IS RESTING ON A FRICTIONAL SURFACE . CALCULATE THE ACCELERATION OF THE BODY WHEN ACTED UPON A FORCE 1.2 newton.
Solution:
Force = mass x acceleration
Therefore, acceleration = Force / mass
acceleration = 1.2/0.5 kg ...(500 gm = 0.5 kg as 1000 gm = 1 kg)
acceleration = 2.4 m/s2
(neglecting the role of friction)
