What happens if we exceed the prescribed word limit while writing an essay for English Language Paper 1 ? How many marks are deducted ?Also write which type of topic (out of argumentative , descriptive , narrative , story writing) is the most scoring type ?(Please do not write it depends on the skill of the writer).

Thanks for your question.

A word limit is given solely to test the student's ability to express himself in limited words. There is no hard and fast rule regarding the deduction of marks if you exceed the word limit. Exceeding the limit by 10-15 words will not be of much consequence. The deduction of marks depends entirely on the person correcting your paper.

In response to your second question, scoring in the composition section has more to do with the content of the essay and less to do with its type. Good execution of any type of essay will help you score well. Stick to the word limit, structure the essay well and remember to conclude.
