A:

Dear Student,

Please post one question at a time.

Answer to your first question is:

False

Ketones are insoluble in water.

Reason:

Ketones are generally non-polar in nature. With increasing length of the Carbon chain; the non polar character of the molecule increases and thus its tendency to dissolve in water decreases. They are miscible in non polar solvent like benzene etc.

Exception: Lower aldehydes and ketones are soluble in water because here the non polar chain (composed of carbon groups,  the methyl and ethyl groups)  are short hence the non polar nature of the aldehyde or ketone is not high in this case.
