What is the composition of dialysing solution ?
why there is a gap between 2 neurons and what is the gap filled with for transfer of the electric impulse ?

Hi Aditi,
The dialysing fluid has the following composition:
- Urea, creatinine, phosphate and sulphate- Absent
- Sodium and potassium- Lower concentration than in normal plasma
- Bicarbonates- Higher concentration than in normal plasma
The gap between the two neurons is called the synapse. In the synapse, conversion of electrical impulse to chemical impulse takes place. If there was no synapse then it would be impossible to convert the electrical signal into the chemical signal. The synapse is filled with synaptic fluid.
