Sky appeared black to astronauts. But why it did not appaered red or of any other colour as after the sunlight is scattered by small or big size asteroids or planets.

Why sunlight is not scattered by small asteroids??

I think they may scatter sun light but the distribution of the asteroids is not same as  our atmosphere , i mean that as our atmosohere is so dense that there is no space( vaccum) remains in our atmosphere. But in the case of asteroids their distribution is not so dense and we get complete sun light.
