why do we use resistors in a circuit?   what is the use of it? what material it is made of?

A resistance wire (resistor) is generally made from an alloy called manganin (84% copper, 12% manganese, 4% nickel) and it has a fixed resistance depending upon its length and thickness. 
It is used in a circuit to provide obstruction to the current and to get the desired value of current.
