Except nitrogen and bismuth, all the elements of group-15 show allotropy. Nitrogen does not show allotropy because of its small size and high electronegativity. The single N-N bond is weaker than P-P bond because of high inter electronic repulsions among non-bonding electrons due to the small bond distance. Hence it does not show allotropy.
