Roentgen rays are also called X rays. It is an electromagnetic radiation of short wavelength (in the approximate range from 0.01 to 10 nanometers) produced when high-speed electrons strike a solid target.
These rays are used for their penetrating power in radiography, radiology, radiotherapy, and scientific research
