Two resistors of 20 ? and 40 ? are connected in parallel in an electric circuit. How does the current passing through the two resistors compare?

In parallel connetion the potential difference accross all the components is same.
hence we can compare the current as:
accross 20ohm resistor:
I1= V/20
and across 40ohm resistor:
 I2= V/40
Hence clearly,
I1/I2 = 2
