Since V = IR, R α 1/I, i.e. if resistance doubles current halves and so on. So, isnt I α 1

remember

V = I R

V α I

here R is constant. if V is changing, this changes current and vice versa. resistance is the characteristics of conductor. it does not depend on V or I.
