 Inflammation is the response of body tissues to injury or irritation; characterized by pain and swelling and redness and heat .

Oedema is the accumulation of excessive amounts of fluid in the tissues resulting in swelling.

A neurotransmitter and hormone, found in vertebrates, invertebrates and plants. It is synthesised from the amino acid tryptophan by cells in the gut and bronchi. It is metabolised in the liver and then excreted in the urine. It also acts as a vasoconstrictor.

Zidovudine is used alone or with other medications to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in patients with or without acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It will slow the spread of HIV infection in the body. Zidovudine is not a cure.
