Light-independent reactions / Dark reaction

This reaction occurs in thylakoids of chloroplasts.

These reactions occur in the stroma of chloroplasts.

In this reaction one molecule of the pigment chlorophyll absorbs one photon and loses one electron

These chemical reactions convert carbon dioxide and other compounds into glucose.

It involves cyclic and non- cyclic electron transport pathways.

It involves C3, C4 and CAM cycle.

The light reactions produce ATP and NADPH. Here fixation of CO2 as glucose occurs using the ATP and the NADPH formed in the light reactions of photosynthesis
