Thus 36 is having factors, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, 36.
 
Hence 36 is a composite number.
 
Consider the number 13.
 
We can write 13 as:
 
13 equals 1 cross times 13 space space space space equals 13 cross times 1
 
Here 13 is expressed as the product of 1 and 13 and 13 cannot be expressed as the product of other numbers.
Thus 13 is a prime number.
