A block of wood of length 40 cm and area of cross section 15cm2 floats in water with 3/8 of itÂ’s length above water. What is the density of wood ?

If denstity of water = 1 g/ cm3
Density of wood
= height immersed in water/ height of the wood
= (1- 3/8) h / h = 5/8 = 0.625 g/ cm^3
