Why unsaturated hydrocarbons burn with sooty flame?

Asked by Kumar Harshvardhan 23rd February 2015, 4:51 PM

Answer:

During combustion, due to the high carbon content in unsaturated hydrocarbons, they do not get oxidised to carbon dioxide completely and therefore burn with a sooty flame.
