CBSE Class 12-science Answered

Why the flux of electric field due to these charges through the surface S is zero??

answered-by-expert Expert Answer
If we apply Gauss' law to a closed surface, then it says that flux enclosed inside a surface is the ratio of total charge enclosed in it to ε0.

Now, the total charge enclosed in the surface is +q + (-q) = q - q = 0

Hence, the flux enclosed is zero.
