Why the colour of live wire is changed to brown from red? Also why the colour of earth wire is green ,why not any other colour

- The color codes of domestic wiring system has been changing since history accross continents and countries.

- Various countires like the European Union, Germany and US have been using different color codes for live, neutral and earthing wires, and that has been causing a large number of electric mishaps.

- India has been following the color code where the live wire is red, neutral wire is black and the earth wire is green (and/or) yellow.

- To avoid any mishaps due to RGB (Red Green Blue) color blindness, red color wire is often replaced with brown colo wires for live wiring and due to similar reasons,

the yellow wire has been used instead of or with the green wire for earthing .
