Why the above transaction can not be represented by 2000-1642 ?

If withdrawl of amount from the account is representd by negative, then the amount deposited is represented by positive.
Mohan deposited Rs.2000 inhis account and hence it is represented by +Rs.2000.
He withdrew Rs.1642 from his account, and hence it is represented by -Rs.1642.
The balance in Mohan\'s account after the withdrawal is +Rs.2000-Rs.1642=+Rs.358.
