Why MP and BP order of HF NH3 H2O are different

Answer:
The properties like MP and BP depends on the extent of formation of H bond in a molecule.
Greater is the tendency of H bonding greater will be the value of MP and BP.

order will be H2O > HF > NH3

Reason - water can form a maximum of 4 H bond thus giving a cage like structure in solid state (ice) thus more enerfy will be required to break these additional bonds. (O is an electronegative atom - a condition for H bond)

HF can form a linear structure and

(N being least electronegative atom will form weaker H bond)
