WHY MORE OXYGEN BUBBLES ARE FORM WHEN WE ADD BAKING SODA TO TO THE APPARATUS OR BEAKER CONTAINING A PLANT WITH TEST TUBE ABOVE IT TO TEST THE RELEASE OF OXYGEN BUBBLES ? EXPLAIN THIS AND ALSO EXPLAIN THE EXPERIMENT IN DETAIL.

It is not due to the addition of baking soda produces more bubbles inside the test tube. The baking soda and bubble formation have two different roles. Baking soda is added to the photosynthesis experiment because it provides a source of carbon dioxide for the plants, since they can’t get it from the atmosphere like terrestrial plants do.

It is a assumption that the plants that receive more light will produce more bubbles than the plants that receive less light. But this can be proved if we perform a set-up for the experiment in a no-light environment and simulataneously turning on the light. (These steps should be performed with some or all of the room lights turned off. The room should not be dark, and there should be adequate light for students to see easily, but the room should not be brightly lit).

Finally the analysis comes like this:
1. There were small bubbles in the test tube and big bubbles coming from the plant. Because small bubbles in test tube were carbon dioxide from the baking soda and the larger bubbles from the plant were oxygen bubbles being produced during photosynthesis.

2. There should be fewer bubbles in the less intense light. The less intense the light, the less energy available for the plant to use for photosynthesis.
