Expert Answer
When the concept of electricity was discovered, electrons were not known. So, scientists postulated that current is the flow of positive charges. After the discovery of electrons, it was understood that current is the flow of electrons. However, the concept was prominent in the world and changing it would create confusion, and so convention prevailed and current remained as flow of positive charges.
