Why is skeleton an important part of our body?

Importance of skeleton in the human body:
(1) The skeleton provides support or framework to all soft parts of the body and gives a definite shape to the body and its parts.
(2) Several delicate and important organs are well protected by a casing of bones. E.g. The skull protects the brain.
(3) Many bones are joined to each other in a manner that one bone can be moved on the other.
(4) Some bones and joints form levers that increase the speed and distance of movement by a muscle.
(5) RBCs and WBCs are formed in the marrow of long bones.
