Why is savanna a home to wildlife??

Dear Arnab,
The Savanna landscape is characterised by tall grasses and short scattered trees. It is a home to many herbivorous and carnivorous animals . Herbivorous animals are found here because of the presence of adequate grass in the region. Carnivorous animals complete the food cycle by feeding on the herbivorous animals. However, the numbers of animals are fast decreasing in the savanna grasslands due to clearing of land for agricultural activities.
