Ionic compounds will not show stereoisomerism.
There is non-directional force of attraction between the ions and it extends in all directions.
These ions are surrounded by number of oppositely charged ions, which is called as coordination number.
So they form three dimensional solid aggregates.
Ionic compounds does not possess directional characteristic as electrostatic force of attraction acts in all directions.
Hence, ionic compounds do not show stereoisomerism.
