Why in a biogas plant the digester has a dome shaped roof?

Asked by HARDIK AGGARWAL 17th September 2013, 10:01 AM
Answered by Expert

The decomposition process inside the plant is carried out by the anaerobic microorganisms, that is, organisms that do not require oxygen.
During decomposition, methane gas is produced. Methane is combustible in presence of air. If the roof is not covered, then combustion of methane gas will take place.
