Forests are helpful because:
1. Forests help to keep the environment cool, to receive a good amount of rainfall and to reduce noise pollution by absorbing the noise of nearby highways.
2. We obtain several products from forests such as wood, honey, gum, sealing wax, fruits, rubber and medicinal plants.
3. Forests absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen during photosynthesis.
4. Forest cover helps to hold the soil particles together and prevents soil erosion.
Dense forests are located in Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh),Maharashtra, Odisha and Chattisgarh.
