1) Why elements are arranged in the form of a periodic table?

     Reasons for Classification 

  • Helps in studying elements in organised manner
  • Helps in correlating the properties of elements
  • Helps in defining the relationship of one element with another
2) Why hydrogen is placed in the first group and first period?

    Because hydrogen shows properties of both alkali metals and halogens as its electronic configuration resembles with both.
