why does boiling point increase down the group?

Answer:
Boiling point increases down the group due to the increase in intermolecular forces down the group.
Stronger the intermolecular forces (Van der Waal forces), more is the boiling point.
Also,  down the group the size of the atom increases.
Due to increase in size, there is more surface area between the molecules which makes the intermolecular forces stronger due to which the boiling point increases.
