ICSE Class 10 Answered

Why do only unsaturated hydrocarbons undergo addition reactions
Asked by lovemaan5500 | 18 Mar, 2018, 11:06: AM
answered-by-expert Expert Answer
Addition reaction occurs to the moloecules which have double bond or triple bond.
These molecules can break one of the carbon -carbon bond and share these electrons to form a new bond,
that is addition reaction.
saturated compounds have only single bond so, addition reaction will not take place.
