why cu 1 compounds are white and diamagnetic and cu 2 compounds are coloured and paramagnetic

The electronic configuration of Cu(I) : [Ar] 3d10 4s0
 
In Cu(I) compound has completely filled d orbital which means no unpaired electrons, therefore it is diamagnetic and due to this, it does not show any transition hence white in colour.
 
 
The electronic configuration of Cu(II) : [Ar] 3d9 4s0
 
In Cu(II) compound has 9 electrons in d orbital which means one unpaired electron is present, therefore it is diamagnetic. due to this, it shows transitions and coloured compounds.
