why a hollow aluminium can float on water

- Alluminium sheets are light in weight when compared with other metals.
- Also, a hollow container made up of alluminium contains enogh air space inside it.
- In majority of the cases, all the hollow containers can float.
- The condition is that if the hollow alluminium weighs less than the amount of water it displaces when let on to the water body, then it floats.
- If the hollow body weighs more than the amount of water it displaces, then the body sinks.
